Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 October 2026

The Bonnet app does not collect your data. It has no server, no account system of its own, and no analytics. Everything you put into it stays on your phone.

What the app keeps, and where

Bonnet stores all of the following on your device only, inside the app's own storage, and sends none of it anywhere:

  • Your voice recordings — the note you leave for the morning and the phrase you use to unlock. They are matched against your speech on the device. They are never uploaded.
  • Your unlock phrase and written intentions.
  • Your schedule and settings — the hours you chose, the alarm, the tone.
  • Your night history — when sessions started and ended, and whether you unlocked. The Analytics tab is arithmetic over those local records. Nothing is reported to us.
  • Which apps you chose to lock. Apple's Screen Time framework hands Bonnet an opaque token for your selection. Bonnet cannot read which apps you picked, and neither can we.

Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.

Signing in is optional

Bonnet offers Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google at the end of onboarding. You can skip it, and every feature works without it. If you do sign in, Apple or Google performs the sign-in and returns an identifier, and in some cases a name and email address, which Bonnet keeps on your device. We do not receive it, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.

The microphone and speech recognition

Bonnet asks for microphone and speech permission so it can hear your unlock phrase. Recognition runs on the device. If you deny either permission, you can type the phrase instead.

This website

The website is separate from the app, and it does record two things: that a page was opened, and that an App Store button was tapped. Each record holds a timestamp, a campaign code from the link you arrived through, and nothing else. There is no name, no email address, no account, no advertising identifier and no profile. We use it only to see which post or video brought someone here.

The site sets no cookies. It stores one short-lived value in your browser's session storage so a single visit is not counted twice; closing the tab discards it. Those records are held in our database at Supabase.

Tracking

Bonnet does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not share anything with data brokers or advertisers. We have nothing to sell, and we do not sell it.

Children

Bonnet is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If Bonnet ever starts sending data off your device, this page changes first, and the effective date above changes with it.
